IPT – Industry Leaders in Training Handbooks and Manuals

In 1984, Bruce Ashton and Ronald Garby, two professional, experienced training coordinators, saw an opportunity to fill a significant void and create user-friendly, informative reference books for various trades and industries.

Published in October 1985, their first book, Metal Trades Handbook, was extremely well received. In fact, its popularity prompted them to publish 9 subsequent books, including training manuals and answer booklets to accompany each handbook. Ron and Bruce call on their industry experience in writing content for their books, and in areas beyond their expertise, they enlist the knowledge and skills of esteemed colleagues. Before publication, each book is reviewed and scrutinized by industry experts from all over North America.

These unique multi-topic publications have since become standard issue within refineries, chemical plants, trade and technical colleges, construction and plant maintenance companies, welding supply distributors and jobsites throughout Canada, the United States and beyond. IPT has also partnered with trades training organizations in producing custom handbooks and manuals for their membership base.
